In the course "Language and Culture in Translation," we offer insight into issues of translation and interpreting from many different angles. We will introduce you to the history and present state of translation and to some key figures in translation theory and practice. We will familiarize you with basic translation procedures, introduce selected linguistic, pragmatic, and cultural aspects that translators of technical and literary texts encounter and grapple with, and outline various translation methods and strategies.
