Annotation:
In this education seminar for teachers of French, we will introduce alternative and innovative ways of teaching inspired by current trends in foreign language pedagogy. Participants will be introduced to them through workshops, where they will be able to try and learn them. We want to focus on contemporary, lively French, to help teachers enrich their repertoire of teaching activities and to bring elements of play into French teaching, with the aim of promoting students' motivation. In addition, we would also like to provide participants with the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and experiences. In this French teacher training seminar, we will introduce alternative and innovative ways of teaching inspired by current trends in foreign language pedagogy. 3) Regional French and regional languages in France
a) Today's French in its diversity (120 minutes) – lecturer: Margot Roulland
French as a living language is constantly changing. In this module we will explore contemporary phenomena such as the language of young people, the influence of English, debates on the feminisation of the language. We will then introduce ways of dealing with these topics in the classroom, as well as documents that can be used in teaching. The aim is to break down clichés about French and help students discover the diversity of the language.
b) Intercultural education: a conversation about diversity in France (120 minutes) - lecturer: Alexandre Geny
How to talk about immigrants in France in a different way than the stereotype? Using concrete examples and presenting adapted documents, we will try to create pedagogical tools to improve Czech students' knowledge of French society.
c) How to get students to debate in French? (120 minutes) - lecturer: François Dendoncker
Every foreign language teacher knows how difficult it is to get students to express themselves in class. So, at the beginner level and in a school environment where the transfer of information is essentially one-way, is it a challenge to organise a debate in the classroom? After reflecting on this issue, the module will suggest tools and best practices to help students expand and refine their thinking, express their opinions and debate in French.
d) Discussion - exchange of views and experiences (120 minutes)
