Annotation:
The course will offer an introduction to contemporary canon theory. Mostly, it will focuse on the analysis of different types of canons and canonization strategies, with an emphasis on school canons. The basic questions of the course are: how is a canon formed? What purpose does a canon serve? How many canons can there be and how do they relate to each other? These questions will be answered with examples from Czech and world literature.
The course is offered as part of the project NPO - Transformation USB, reg. no. - NPO_JČU_MSMT - 16608/2022.
