Integrate yourself - a balancing course in mathematics for incoming students

Mathematics Bridging Course for First-Year Bachelor's Students at the Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia

If you are starting a degree programme that includes courses such as Mathematical Analysis I or Mathematics, this course is designed for you.

The aim of the course is to reduce the initial differences in mathematical knowledge among graduates of various types of secondary schools (grammar schools, technical secondary schools, vocational schools, etc.). Based on our experience, some topics are not always covered in sufficient depth at secondary school, and catching up with them during university studies can be challenging.

The course will be taught by student teachers who have themselves successfully completed the courses that await you during your studies. The programme will be conducted under the academic supervision of Associate Professor Jana Kalová, who teaches Mathematical Analysis and other courses at the Institute of Mathematics.

The course is organised in block format. Over four morning sessions and three afternoon sessions, participants will gradually work through topics that students often find challenging, including equations, inequalities, functions, analytic geometry, and trigonometry.
