Today's learners live in a predominantly visual world, where through the media
and technology they are constantly exposed to an flood of visual stimuli. In this
session we will explore the importance of using imagery in the ELT classroom and
try out a range of activities where visual aids such as pictures, photos, posters and
video images help facilitate learning and provide powerful retention tools.

Making it Fun for Teenagers

This workshop aims to look at various aspects of teaching teenagers and assisting
them in their learning process. We will first outline some of the challenges
teenage learners face when learning a foreign language and what helps or hinders
their learning. We will then try out a variety activities, with a view to raising the
level of the learners' interest and motivation. The activities demonstrated in the
workshop are versatile, and can be used in teaching both language and skills.

O lektorovi:
Daniela Clarke is a teacher, teacher trainer and ELT materials writer. She has
been involved in ELT since 1997, mainly in the UK as a teacher, teacher trainer
and subject learning coach. Her teaching experience ranges from young learners
to adults of all language levels and competences, and her teacher training
experience covers training on the Trinity Cert TESOL and Exam Assessors Courses.
Daniela currently lives and works in the Czech Republic and presents regularly at
ELT conferences in Central and Eastern Europe.
